The Relevance of the Supreme Court of The United States

The Supreme Court of The United States of America is arguable not only the most influential gear in the system that is known as American law, but also one of the most critical pieces in the American government as apart of its Judicial system. The courts overall purpose is too pass judgement over high profile and high end cases brought to them by the American people. These cases have the ability to be massive in notoriety or simply go national and in certain occasion this is beneficial as the court of public opinion is often a factor in the judicial system. The biggest shock to me when it came to the Supreme Court. Most defiantly had to be the overall impact it had when it came to law regarding to things such as the presidency. I was utterly shocked when I discovered that the court had and still has the ability to overturn and dispute laws on a higher level than the president. By this, I do simply mean that the court have to ability to pass or sway the law more in their favor and in favor of the people rather than the president. This being said the president has the ability to wish for laws as well as by pass them, but the court will more often than not have a larger say than the commander in chief himself. The video also finally convinced me how powerful and persuasive the Supreme Court can be as I did not fully grasp the power that taking a case to the supreme court truly had until recently. Ultimately, the Supreme Court is not just a crucial part of the American Judicial system , but an essential part of it.
